Entry Level Solar Photovoltaic Training

This one week (40 hour) course is designed to teach the learning objectives, as outlined by NABCEP, for the Entry Level Solar PV Exam.  This course is offered to individuals wanting to enter into the solar field, where the basic concepts learned prepare the student for the Entry Level exam.

“Passing the Entry-Level exam demonstrates that the student has passed an industry-designed exam based on learning objectives developed by subject matter experts.” *

Students who pass the Entry Level exam are encouraged to obtain additional classroom and on-the-job training where they are supervised by a licensed qualified supervisor.

Upon completion of this course the student earns a MiraCosta College Certificate of Training.  The optionally offered Entry Level exam is included in this course and proctored in the classroom.

Through our training the student will learn basic Solar PV theory via classroom lecture, and experience a hands-on lab session that focuses on solar PV installation concerns including site evaluation, sizing calculations, testing and trouble shooting methods for “Grid-Tie” and “Stand Alone Battery” PV systems.  This training is suitable for individuals wishing to pursue additional classroom or hands-on training with a qualified apprenticeship program, and/or a supervised, entry-level trainee position with a PV industry company.

Also, we offer on-site training for classes of 12 or more people.  Learn more about private courses for 12 or more students.
